Christian Bassett is recruiting a Retail Director, Korea for a leading luxury fashion company.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budget and Target Achievement:
• S/He is constantly aimed at achieving performance objectives of the brand’s boutiques falling under her/his remit through a complete overview of operation, merchandise and client relations and through a careful management of operating expenditures.
• Plans seasonal and monthly budgets in cooperation with Finance and Merchandising Department and takes an in-depth monitoring of their continuous optimization.
• Oversees sales targets of the stores and ensures with each Stores the achievement of the monthly/quarterly/yearly budget.
• Constantly analyzes sales performance versus Budget and versus Last Year.
• Reports on sales, costs and business performance according to company requirements in order to emphasize new opportunities and to implement effective optimization measures.
• Controls and optimizes the relevant indicators KPI. Deeply communicate with Store Managers to ensure that Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates are generating a competitive KPI and improving their proficiency on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.
Retail Development:
New Project Management
• S/He builds up good relationships with landlords and closely communicate and efficiently negotiate with each partner on new projects of opening, relocation and renovation.
• Drafts and review a new contract with the Legal Department of the Headquarter in Milan and negotiate with landlords on critical terms and conditions.
• Manage amicable and strong relationship with business partners(retailers) to maximize business opportunity.
Analysis and Reporting
• S/He prepares and submits a monthly executive summary report for Korea region.
• Reports on the new market that Valentino has not yet tapped in Korea in order to discuss about the further development through new potential projects.
• Issues monthly competitors’ sales trend reports.
Store Improvement
• S/He liaises with the Store Planning and Visual Merchandising Department to generate the most optimized shopping environment for clients.
• Deeply communicate with Store Planning Manager to improve existing boutiques on basis of the current layout and efficiency, receiving feedbacks and requests from Store Manager and VIC.
Retail Store Operations:
• Implements the strategy of the brand in a consistent way and adapts it to local demands, collaborating with all functions, to gain a complete ownership of the business.
• Ensures administration procedures and timing are respected in line with the global policy from HQs.
• Supervises all relevant maintenance activities to maximize the use of the furniture and all the equipment of the store by working with involved Departments in Korea.
People Management:
• S/He takes all the necessary measures in order to create and maintain a motivated and happy working environment; manages all delicate situations regarding store personnel, according to Company policies and employment laws.
• Takes responsibility for recruitment, induction and succession planning of core team members in a close collaboration with HR.
• Reflects the corporate standard image on the environment in Boutiques and ensures that all staffs are exactly aware of the corporate standards. S/He guarantees that uniform, grooming and mannerism guidelines are followed and always maintained.
• Deeply communicates with Store Managers to ensure that Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates are generating a competitive KPI and improving their proficiency on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.
• Assigns quantitative and qualitative objectives to staffs in each position and ensures that they have achieved. Deals with staff performance appraisal by analyzing the individual results according to Company rules of conduct.
• Ensures that the laws of the Labor Code are applied with the support of HQs.
Training:
• S/He develops talents and identifies staff and training needs.
• Constantly motivates Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers to lead their boutiques in a best teamwork spirit, providing them with an opportunity to improve the manpower of themselves and their team through a corporate training by Accademia.
• Constantly monitor if all staffs are following the standard selling ritual and client relation activities according to the company strategy that are defined in Accademia.
• Trains and develops all staffs according to Company requirements and stimulates personnel to be constantly up to date in the fashion industry. S/He also makes an effort to continuously develop knowledge and information about market trends and competitors activities.
Selling and Customer Service Activities:
• S/He’s constantly aimed at satisfying the customer. Guarantees excellent customer service by monitoring sales activities; ensures that standards of Selling Ceremony are maintained at all times.
• Visits the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues.
• Drives business initiatives helping to develop and broaden the client network.
• Promotes customer loyalty; liaises with Client Engagement Manager in order to recruit and maintain very important Clients.
• Maintains and develops external relations with prestigious people and clients, in order to promote brand loyalty and expand the network.
• Ensures the respect of Company procedures regarding sales and after sales processes and also continuously develop knowledge and information about HQ guidelines.
Store Image:
• S/He is up-to-date regarding HQ Visual Merchandising criteria and verifies execution in store.
• Liaises with and receives information and requirements from HQ Visual Merchandising; verifies the visual criteria effectiveness in terms of sales; shares with Regional and HQ Visual Merchandising all the relevant information and discusses about the best solution to maximize the ensemble of the visual merchandising and store performance aspects.
