Christian Bassett is recruiting Store Planning Manager, Japan for a luxury fashion company.
 
• To ensure that the execution of store design projects should always be of the highest standard and reflect the quality and DNA of the company in Japan region.
 
REQUIRED MANAGEMENT SKILL

• Independent, strong coordination and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skill with all level of management and contractor
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Project administration including filing, correspondence, tenders, contracts, etc.
• To review and negotiate cost with vendors and prepare payment request
• To work with related parties to prepare tender information including schedule of rates, construction contracts, etc.
• To review tender returns
• To update reports and project status
 
Project Management
• To pre-plan and organize projects using cross functional teams and manage the process to achieve project success dealing with submission and following the regulations
• To develop project programs and enforce delivery of items according to key milestones and due dates
• Close monitoring of projects to ensure updated information is shared by all related parties
• Manage ahead and identify risk, shortfall in construction processes and prepare improvement plans for execution
• Professional negotiation skill with the department stores and developers to acquire the predominant positioning to achieve the ideal quality and concept
 
Financial Management
• To forecast expenditure for projects and manage the budget
• To select and approve local and overseas vendors who will complete work to the required quality standards
• To constantly monitor and review projects to minimize timeline and costs to meet targets
• To review costs and identify cost saving opportunities which do not impact upon the overall design concept of the project
• To ensure that all policies and procedures are followed including concurrence
• To evaluate, analyse and negotiate all venders relating to projects to achieve most competitive prices at high quality
• To ensure that all internal and external parties comply with the highest standards and reinforce them
• Competent in monitoring renovation budgets and is aware of current market rates
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
• Degree holder or equivalent in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or related field
• Minimum 8 years-experience in the field of interior design, construction or fitting-out project management
• Experience in managing store projects for high-end fashion brand would be preferred
• Local experience would be preferred especially in dealing with submission/regulations
• Good command of written and spoken English and native in Japanese
• Proficient in computer applications including MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Photoshop
• Willing to travel overseas as necessary for close monitoring of projects
• Previous working experience with a contractor would be an added benefit
• Good knowledge of construction details
