Major scope
• Business partnering with commercial heads in Korea.
• Reporting to Regional Financial Controller in Hong Kong, responsible for management account review, business planning and forecast, daily banking and treasury management, and local compliance in Korea.
• Process enhancement and projects.
Role & Responsibility
• Business partnering with commercial heads in Korea
• Business partnering with commercial heads and teams in Korea to support daily businesses and expansion in the market from finance and compliance perspective.
Daily finance and accounting
• Working closely with the finance team in Hong Kong to support daily finance and accounting processes and review management accounts prepared by Hong Kong team.
Business planning and forecast
• Supporting Regional Financial Controller and CFO to prepare annual budget and regular forecast and analysis for strategic planning in Korea.
• Reviewing monthly management accounts vs budget for variance analysis and highlight key points for management review and strategic planning.
• Monitoring business performance, CAPEX and major costs for different markets and stores and managing related budget and inventory level.
Local compliance
• Managing local tax advisors (external CPA firms), legal advisors and auditors to handle regular tax filing, annual audit, local compliance, etc. in Korea.
• Be the contact point with local tax authorities and other Government departments to manage the brand’s daily compliance and related topics in Korea.
Daily banking and treasury management
• Liaise with local banks to manage bank account setup, daily liquidity management and cashflow planning in the market.
Process enhancement and projects
• Supporting different business units in the region for process and control enhancement, including store opening, new business channel setup and standardization.
• Any other tasks or projects assigned.
Qualifications / Education Requirements
• Bachelor degree or above in Finance and Accounting.
• Qualified with KICPA or any internationally recognized accounting qualification.
• At least 8 years’ experience in finance, accounting and business planning for retail business, with more than 3 years of solid business partnering experience in supporting retail operations in Korea.
• Hands-on experience in managing retail related projects including new store opening, process enhancement, etc.
• International exposure with working experience outside Korea is a plus.
• Strong computer skills is essential (MS Office/Excel), hands-on experience in SAP is a plus.
• Fluent in English / Korea.
• Able to work independently and contribute to the growing team.
• Flexible in a changing environment and work to strict deadline
