Balenciaga Debuts Platform Crocs At Its Runway Show
Creative Director, Demna Gvasalia takes the idea of an unlikely collaboration to a new level with Crocs. Gvasalia explained how he found Crocs incredibly modern and he'd been drawn to them because of the injection moulding technology used in their manufacture saying that it is a very innovative shoe. It’s light weight, one-piece foam mould, techniques and material is very Balenciaga.
Balenciaga presented on the runway in Paris, as part of its Spring 2018 women’s prêt-à-porter. Not only did Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia produce a platform version of the iconic slip-on sandal, but he also made use of the rather genius customisation options that Crocs offers in the form of pins that can be attached to the perforated upper. Already a hit in the kids market we predict this will also be an instant hit with adults. Ultimately it means you can actually customisethe upper of the sandal with a series of Balenciaga plastic pins.
